Italy's foreign minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi and his Belgian counterpart Didier Reynders on Tuesday signed an accord to "structure and deepen" the "already excellent" bilateral relations between the two countries, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
Tha Memorandum of Understanding signed in Egmont Palace in Brussels brings "new dynamics" in the bilateral relationship, aims to facilitate exchanges between the two countries and sets up more regular meetings between the two countries, including quarterly consultations, according to the statement.
The MoU paves the way for "comprehensive exchanges" between Italy and Belgium on a wide range of subjects related to bilateral relations and concerning "European and multilateral topics of common interest", the statement noted.
Reynders is also Belgium's deputy premier and defence minister.
