Bilateral relations, Europe and the management of the Coronavirus pandemic were at the centre of video talks on Thursday between Italy's premier Giuseppe Conte and Austria's chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
"The two prime ministers discussed bilateral ties, European topics and the management of the pandemic," Conte's office said in a statement.
Kurz tweeted after the talks that Austria has "excellent bilateral relations with Italy which is our second most important trading partner with more than 1,100 Austrian companies active there."
"We discussed the COVID-19 pandemic and how to overcome this crisis together. We were also able to discuss the issues of migration and the common fight against Islamist terrorism," read a separate tweet.
