Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio on Monday held phone talks with his Slovenian counterpart Anze Logar that centred on the reopening of borders within the Schengen Area, the foreign ministry stated.
Di Maio and Logar's talks also focused on the declining number of Covid-19 coronavirus cases in both countries, according to the foreign ministry statement.
Di Maio had a meeting with Logar in Ljubljana on 6 June during a tour of European capitals aimed at reviving tourism and ending travel restrictions imposed when the Covid-19 pandemic began earlier this year.
