The 83-year-old owner of a building firm died Wednesday when he and one of his workmen plunged five metres to the ground from scaffolding in the northwest Italian city of Turin.
Both men were rushed to the emergency room at a local hospital but Lino Conte died of head injuries soon after he arrived there.
Conte's workman, Abdel Karim Soucri, 40, was reported to be conscious and in a stable condition with multiple traumatic injuries.
Police are investigating the accident, which happened at around 8 am at a building site in Borgo Vittoria on Turin's northern outskirts.
