"Close coordination" between EU member states is essential to stem the new wave of COVID-19 infections, Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio said on Tuesday.
"We need close coordination between all EU member states at our borders and on research on a vaccine," Di Maio said.
He was speaking at the 17th Italy-Spain Forum for Dialogue.
Politicians have "the duty of maximum transparency towards citizens" when outlining restrictive measures needed to contain the pandemic," Di Maio stated.
