When fighting drives large numbers of people from their homes, their land, and their jobs, they are more likely to go hungry, the United Nations World Food Programme tweeted on Friday.
"Without peace, we cannot hope to end hunger; and while there is hunger, we will never have a peaceful world," the tweet said.
The three worst food crises currently are in countries affected by conflict: Afghanistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Yemen, noted WFP, which won this year's Nobel peace prize.
