Italy's premier Giuseppe Conte on Wednesday held talks in Rome with his Albanian counterpart Avdullah Hoti which centred on bilateral relations and Kosovo's path to European Union membership, said a statement from Conte's office.
"Substantial meeting with Italy's prime minister Giuseppe Conte, to whom I expressed my gratitude for Italy's support for the advancement of Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic agenda, visalib process and economic cooperation," Hoti tweeted after the talks.
Kosovo hopes to join Nato as well as the EU.
Italy supports the European integration of Kosovo and the Western Balkans and views Kosovo as key to the region's stability, foreign minister Luigi Di Maio told his Kosovan counterpart Meliza Haradinaj Stublla.
Italy is also eager to boost already "excellent" bilateral ties with Kosovo, especially in the information and communications technology sector, Di Maio said.
