Italy's prime minister Giuseppe Conte will on Friday hold bilateral talks with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi via video link, Conte's office said in a statement.
During the videoconference, Conte and Modi will "comprehensively review bilateral relations and exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual concern," said a statement from India's external affairs ministry.
Italy is India's fifth-largest trading partner in the European Union, after Germany, Belgium, the UK and France. The value of trade between India and Italy stood at 9.52 billion euros in 2019, according to the ministry statement.
Around 600 large Italian companies operate in India in a wide range of sectors, from fashion, garments, textiles and textile machinery to automotive components, infrastructure, chemicals, energy and insurance, the ministry statement said.
A number of Indian companies are also active in Italy, the statement added.
