Italy's premier Giuseppe Conte will attend a two-day summit in Brussels of European Union leaders that kicks off on Thursday, Conte's office said in a statement.
The EU's long-term strategy on climate change, its 2021-2027 budget and planned reforms to the European Stability Mechanism are high on the agenda at the summit, the European Council said on its website.
Discussions will also focus on the bloc's strategic ties with Africa ahead of an upcoming EU-Africa summit, relations with Russia, trade, Britain's planned exit from the EU and its future relations with the UK, according to the European Council.
A Conference on the Future of Europe, starting in 2020 and ending in 2022, to involve the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission, are also on the summit agenda.
