Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio was in Pakistan on Monday on the last leg of a four-day visit to that also took in Uzbekistan and Tajikistan and Qatar, the foreign ministry stated.
Di Maio was due to hold talks with Pakistani counterpart Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Quereshi and with premier Imran Khan, said the statement.
The crisis in Afghanistan, political developments, the fight against terrorism and support to neighbouring countries hosting Afghan refugees were the focus of Di Maio visit to the region and to Qatar.
