Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio took part in a ministerial meeting of NATO's Quint informal-decision making group on Wednesday, Adnkronos has learned from sources.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of a NATO foreign and defence ministers summit taking place in Brussels and looked at "various issues on the international agenda" according to the sources.
The Quint group comprises the US, Germany, France, Britain and Italy, but Italy had not been taking part in ministerial meetings in recent years.
