A 40-year-old woman with Down's syndrome and her 72-year-old man were found dead in an apartment on the outskirts of the northwest Italian city of Turin on Wednesday, apparently of natural causes.
It is believed the man, who had diabetes, died late on Tuesday and his daughter expired a few hours later, possibly due to a cardiac arrest.
The pensioner's wife found her husband and daughter dead in their bedrooms at the family apartment and raised the alarm with a neighbour after the tragic discovery.
An autopsy was due to be carried out on both bodies to establish the cause of death.
