Premier Mario Draghi and France's President Emmanuel Macron will on Friday in Rome sign the Quirinale Treaty which aims to bolster bilateral relations and to enable Italy to play a more active role in Europe.
Draghi and Macron will hold a joint press conference after they sign the friendship treaty at Villa Madama at 9.30 am, according to a statement from Draghi's office.
The 60-page treaty is aimed at spurring closer collaboration in all areas - from foreign policy to defence and culture. It mirrors a pact signed between France and Germany in 1963.
