Italy's European Championship victory over England in a penalty shoot-out "has put us at the centre of Europe," premier Mario Draghi said on Monday.
"You have put us at the centre of Europe," Draghi told the national team at a reception at his office in Rome.
The Azzurris' triumph "has made us proud to be united in these celebrations in Italy's name," Draghi underlined.
Italy's 3-2 win against England on penalties in the Euro 2020 final in London on Sunday - the first time it won the title since 1968.
