The United Nations World Food and Agriculture Organisation on Tuesday expressed solidarity with Italy, which in the grip of a new surge of the Coronavirus after its dramatic outbreak earlier this year.
"FAO stands shoulder to shoulder with Italy in the fight against the COVID-19 virus," FAO chief Qu Dongyu tweeted.
"And it (FAO) hopes to work together on food security and healthy diets through the G20, the Food Systems Summit and the newly launched Food Coalition," the tweet continued.
FAO last week unveiled the Food Coalition - a global alliance to boost efforts to beat hunger and ensure sustainable agri-food systems amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Italy proposed the Food Coalition and will promote it during its G20 presidency next year.
