A man and his three-year-old son were killed in southern Italy on Tuesday when he plunged from a third-floor balcony after a row with his wife, clutching the boy in his arms.
Antonello Fiore crept into a room in the family apartment in the town of Padula where his son Samuel and his wife were sleeping after the couple had rowed late on Monday, took the toddler and jumped off the balcony with him.
Fiore's wife and his mother spotted the two bodies lying in the courtyard of a neighbouring building early on Tuesday after waking and finding Fiore and the child missing from the apartment.
Police are investigating the tragedy.
