Italy's foreign ministry has launched a vaccination centre for employees and their families at its internal outpatient clinic - the first initiative of its kind by a central government department - the ministry said on Tuesday in a statement.
The foreign ministry's secretary general Ettore Francesco Sequi and ASL Roma 1's director general Angelo Tanese attended the new vaccination centre's inauguration, the statement said.
The facility will also be open to civil servants posted abroad, who are often employed in areas with "a high epidemiological risk" with limited access to vaccines, according to the statement.
The project is part of the Lazio Region’s vaccination programme and stems from a partnership with the local health authority (ASL Roma 1), which has provided a dedicated medical team, the statement noted.
