Pope Francis called on his flock Thursday to thank the Lord, saying He is merciful and is always beside Catholics.
"Let us thank God who is merciful and ever at our side," Francis wrote on Twitter.
The Pope's @Pontifex account on the microblogging website is published in nine languages and has over 22 million followers.
The pontiff has declared a Jubilee Year of Mercy, during which believers around the world are encouraged to renew their relationship with God and seek forgiveness for their sins, according to a 700-year-old tradition.
Rome is expected to welcome over 30 million pilgrims during the Year of Mercy, began on 8 December and ends on 30 November 2016.
"The mercy of God will always be greater than any sin," Francis tweeted on Tuesday.
