Gazpromneft-Aero Increases Fuelling to Lufthansa in Russia by 80%

ST PETERSBURG, Russia, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

Gazpromneft-Aero has entered into a long-term contract with Lufthansa to refuel the airline's cargo planes at Yemelyanovo International Airport in Krasnoyarsk. This has allowed Gazpromneft-Aero to increase monthly fuel supplies to the Lufthansa Group in Russia by 80% from February 2014.

Lufthansa Group's total fuel consumption reached over 7 600 tonnes in 2013. Gazpromneft-Aero currently operates at Domodedovo Airport, Moscow, supplying fuel for regular flights run by Swiss International Air Lines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Air Dolomiti, all of which operate under Lufthansa Group. [The Company signed] a long-term agreement for refuelling in Domodedovo in September 2013.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Based on the results of 2013, Gazpromneft-Aero has confirmed its  status as the leader  on the Russian aviation fuel market in terms of retail sales volume. The total volume of the company's aviation fuel sales amounted to 3.4 million tons, of which more than 2.2 million tons were fuelled "in-wing" - up 16% from 2012. The company also has the largest distribution network in the Russian market, which includes 37 fueling complexes.

Gazpromneft-Aero is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft. The company has been carrying out aircraft refuelling and "into-plane" aviation fuel sales since January 1, 2008. Gazpromneft-Aero has been a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in supplying aviation fuel since December 2008.

Gazpromneft-Aero leads Russia's aviation fuel market in terms of retail sales volume. The Company operates at 44 Russian airports and uses technology in compliance with the highest IATA: Green fuel operations safety levels.
