Specialists from Aeroflot, as well as from refueling facilities at airports in Yekaterinburg, Moscow and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, along with representatives from fuel servicing truck producers participated in the training session.

The specialists studied new standards, aviation fuel quality requirements and fuel storage acceptance procedures: ICAO 99-77 "Manual on Civil Aviation Jet Fuel Supply" and EI/JIG 1530 "Quality assurance requirements for the manufacturing, storage and distribution of aviation fuels." Such issues as the storage of aviation fuels and lubricants and their specifications, and aspects of jet fuel filtration were also considered. Special attention was paid to the operation of fueling equipment, centralized refueling systems and aircraft refueling technology. The training session saw the first demonstration of a new rapid test for fuel servicing truck pressure regulation systems.

"In its work, Gazpromneft-Aero uses both Russian and international standards in the field of aviation fuel supply. Our partnership with IATA allows us to participate in the development and implementation of international technologies of aviation fuel supply and helps to strengthen our position in the global aviation fuel market," Gazpromneft-Aero General Director Vladimir Yegorov noted.

IATA Fuel Quality Pool representative Peter Westphal said: "The success of the training and the growing interest of Russian and foreign aviation fuel supply experts in the training sessions held at Gazpromneft-Aero is due, primarily, to increased attention to the Russian air transportation market. All the participants in the training session are technical specialists whose joint work is aimed at a common goal whereby international fuel supply norms will be in place worldwide. Thanks to Gazpromneft-Aero we are implementing our plans in Russia."
