The Oxford/Astrazeneca Coronavirus vaccine is set to arrive in Italy "in the next few days", foreign minister told public broadcaster Rai on Tuesday.
"Italy is involved in two important vaccination programmes which are those of (BioNTech-)Pfizer and Astrazeneca. The latter will arrive in the next few days," Di Maio said.
The approval of the Oxford/Astrazeneca vaccine by the European Medicines Agency is "imminent", Di Maio stated.
Phase 1 of the new COVID vaccine being developed by Rome biotech company ReiThera and Rome's Spallanzani hospital was sucessfully completed on Tuesday, Di Maio noted.
"This is all good news," said Di Maio.
