The foreign ministry said on Friday it is "verifying" reports of the kidnapping of three Italians in southern Mali and foreign minister Luigi Di Maio is following the case "personally".
The abducted Italians are a family of Christian missionaries who were seized by gunman with their Togolese domestic worker, media reports cited the mayor of the town of Sincina as saying.
The kidnapping is the latest attack to target Westerners in the volatile West African country.
