United Nations refugee agency chief Filippo Grandi has praised the Czech Republic for welcoming some 380,000 refugees who have fled there from their homeland since Russia's invasion on 24 February.
"Happy to meet and thank Interior Minister @Vit_Rakusan who leads the government’s humane, effective response to the influx of 380,000 Ukrainian refugees into the Czech Republic," Grandi tweeted on Monday.
"UNHCR will continue to support the authorities and civil society to ensure a sustainable response," the tweet added.
