A castle in northeast Italy and 103 apartments in Milan will go under the hammer Thursday on one of China's biggest online auction and shopping websites, Taobao.com, state news agency Xinhua reports.
The castle in the Italian wine region of Valpolicella will have a starting price of 100 million yuan (about 16 million dollars), Xinhua said.
Buyers can browse basic information on the castle and the Milan apartments before paying a deposit to join the auction, according to Taobao.com
It is the first time a castle has been auctioned on the website, which is planning to auction ranches in Australia and chateaus in France in the future.
The website has already sold four islands in Fiji and hundreds of homes in the United States, Xinhua said.
