Officials from Italy's embassy in Tripoli have visited a Libyan diplomatic policeman who was injured in clashes last week between rival militias when Fathi Bashagha, the premier appointed by the eastern parliament in briefly tried to take over the capital.
"The Italian Embassy payed a visit this morning to the officer of the Libyan Diplomatic Police who was injured by shrapnels during clashes in #Tripoli last Tuesday," the embassy tweeted.
"The Embassy wished Police Officer Hisham a fast recovery, thanked him for his generous work and expressed its strong sympathy to him, his mother and his family," the tweet continued.
