Italy's foreign minister Luigi Di Maio and Canadian counterpart Marc Garneau looked at the situation in Afghanistan following the end of the US-led mission to the war-ravaged country, where the UN has warned a worsening humanitarian crisis looms.
"A videoconference between Luigi Di Maio and his Canadian counterpart Marc Garneau discussed the situation in Afghanistan, also in light of yesterday's G7+ ministerial meeting," the foreign ministry tweeted.
"Transfer of civilians from Afghanistan, diplomatic presence, humanitarian situation and fight against terrorism," the tweet added.
