A ceremony held in Kampala on Friday marked the delivery of medical equipment from Italy that will help a hospital in the city fight COVID-19 in Uganda, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The Coronavirus-busting equipment is the first that Italy has sent to Uganda and it will be used by the Lacor Hospital (Gulu) run by the Piero and Lucille Corti Foundation, said the statement.
Italy's ambassador to Uganda, Massimiliano Mazzanti, symbolically delivered the cargo - including ventilators, filters and oxygen masks - to the Ugandan health ministry's director of health services Charles Olaro, the statement said.
