The Italian government has renewed its condemnation of Russia's 12-week-old offensive in war-afflicted Ukraine and urged an immediate ceasefire that will ensure "concrete" talks on a lasting peace accord.
"We reiterate our strong condemnation of the Russian Federation's aggression in Ukraine," the foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
"And we emphatically demand an immediate ceasefire to end the suffering of Ukrainian civilians and which guarantees the start of concrete negotiations on a sustainable political solution to the conflict," the statement added.
