Italian authorities on Thursday deported a 19-year-old Tunisian illegal immigrant with jihadist sympathies, bringing to 53 the number of terrorism suspects expelled from Italy this year, the interior ministry said in a statement.
The Tunisian, referred to as R. H., was deported on the orders of the top government official in the northern city of Padua, said the statement.

The suspect also attacked police officers and self-harmed, the statement added.
A total of 514 terrorism suspects have been deported from Italy since 2015, including 98 last year, 126 in 2018, 105 in 2017 and 66 in 2016, according to the statement.
