The Italian government has paid tribute to slain Israeli premier and Nobel peace laureate Yitzhak Rabin, calling him an inspiration.
"Rabin's commitment inspires our constant efforts towards peace and to leaving behind a better world for future generations," the foreign ministry tweeted.
The tweet contained a photo of foreign minister Luigi Di Maio inaugurating a new play area in Rome that Israel's embassy gifted the Italian capital to mark the centenary of Rabin's birth.
