Political and economic ties with Croatia are a priority for the Italian government, foreign minister Antonio Tajani tweeted after talks with the country's premier Andrej Plenkovic in Zagreb on Friday.
"Political and economic relations with Croatia are a government priority, also to strengthen Italy's leading role in the western Balkans," the tweet added.
Bolstering trade ties and economic and migration cooperation were the main focus of Tajani's visit to Croatia and Slovenia on Friday, said a foreign ministry statement.
