Italy's government is to donate five million euros to the United Nations refugee agency to aid Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia and to help the transit country of Tunisia's authorities shelter refugees, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
The project to be implemented in Ethiopia aims to support local Authorities in providing Eritrean refugees in Ethiopia’s Tigray region with healthcare services, clean drinking water, primary education and activities for children and for people with specific needs, said the statement.
The Tunisia project aims to expand refugee reception facilities in the governorates of Sfax and Medenine to help local authorities there provide services for refugees and asylum-seekers, the statement noted.
