Italy remains strongly committed to multi-lateralism, which will be a key theme of its presidency of the Group of Twenty nations in 2021, deputy foreign minister Emanuela Del Re tweeted on Tuesday.
"As holder of the next G20 Presidency, Italy is aware of its role in leading the multilateral effort to shape a better global society.," read the tweet.
"Today more than ever, multilateralism is the only viable platform to address the complex challenges ahead of us," the tweet added.
