Italy and Vietnam want to further strengthen their excellent bilateral relations, Italy's deputy economic development minister Gilberto Pichetto said in a statement on Thursday after talks with Vietnam's ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Hue.
"Italy and Vietnam's economies are highly complementary: since 2013 we have deepened a strategic bilateral partnership through bilateral high-level visits and regular dialogue," Pichetto said.
These "intense" institutional contacts and have taken place alongside business activity and have spawned a "fruitful" set of relations with "significant commercial potential", he said.
"It is in the interests of both countries to bolster our ties," Pichetto underlined.
