Stefano Baldi has taken up his post as Italy's permanent representative at the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the career diplomat and academic author tweeted on Tuesday.
"Happy the start 2021 as the new Permanent Representative of #Italy to the @OSCE in #Vienna," tweeted Baldi, who was previously envoy to Bulgaria.
The 57-nation security and human rights watchdog, best known for its election observation work and monitoring mission in eastern Ukraine, is often involved in diplomacy on regional conflicts.
