Kuwait City, 21 March (AKI) - Kuwait's authorities have deported 14 Lebanese citizens and three Iraqis for alleged links to the militant Lebanese Shia movement Hezbollah, Arabic daily Al-Qabas reported on Monday, citing unnamed security sources.
Al-Qabas reported last week that around 1,100 Lebanese and Syrian citizens were due to be deported from Kuwait for alleged ties to Hezbollah.
Monday's expulsions follow the designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation by the Arab League and the Gulf Cooperation Council earlier this month.
The United States, France, Australia, Canada, the Netherlands and Israel have also classified Hezbollah as a terrorist organisation.
The European Union, New Zealand and the United Kingdom have designated Hezbollah's military wing as a terrorist organisation, but not its political wing.
The GCC comprises Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, The United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.
