Libya's prime minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah on Monday pledged to "remove any obstacles" faced by Italian companies that want to do business with the war-ravaged oil producer.
"Italy could play a crucial and primary role in encouraging investment in Libya," Dbeibah said in remarks to a bilateral business forum in Rome.
The business forum was attended by representatives from Italian energy giant Eni and other major groups including Fincantieri, Italtel and Leonardo.
Debeibah, a businessman from Misrata, lauded Italian companies, saying they had "a wealth of experience".
"We will do everything to remove any obstacles to collaboration that we hope to spark," Debeibah said.
