Members of Italy's lower house of parliament on Wednesday voted in favour of the ruling majority's motion on premier Paolo Gentiloni's communications on the upcoming European Union summit.
A total of 239 MPs approved the motion, 144 voted against and 39 abstained.
The EU leaders' summit is being held in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.
