Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas will meet Italy's populist premier Giuseppe Conte, head of state Sergio Mattarella and Pope Francis during a visit to Rome in early December, the PA's ambassador to Rome, Mai Alkaila, told The Voice of Palestine radio service on Tuesday.
Abbas will arrive in Rome on 2 December and will hold talks with Francis, followed by Mattarella and Conte the following day, the Voice of Palestine cited Alkaila as saying.
Nabil Shaati, political advisor to Abbas for international affairs, has also confirmed the Palestinian leader's visit to Rome.
