A total 11,471 migrants reached Italy by boat this year, a 51% drop from 2018, when 23,370 migrants landed, Italy's interior ministry said on Tuesday.
The numbers of unaccompanied minors fell by over 50% from January to December to 1,680 from 3,536 last year, according to the ministry.
This year's arrivals are 90.4% fewer than the 119,369 migrants who landed in Italy in 2017, the interior ministry figures showed.
Most of the migrants came from Tunisia, followed by Pakistan, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Iraq, Bangladesh, Iran, Sudan, Guinea and Somalia.
