Migrants: Adnkronos International to launch a 'network' for media professionals

Thousands of people are fleeing from their countries due to conflicts and Adnkronos International (AKI) cannot be indifferent to this reality. In recent months, our news agency has been receiving and relaunching in Italian, English and Arabic requests of cooperation and help for Iraqis, Syrians, Lybians, Eritreans, Afghans, Pakistanis, Sudanese, Somalis, Egyptians, Christians, Muslims, Copts, Kurds and Yazidis.

We want to be an instrument to create an Observatory for media workers in the countries these conflicts involve. In this sense, AKI offers a 'channel' intended to boost professional partnerships as well, with the aim to give a voice both to those who fled and those who have remained in these countries.

By announcing this initiative, Adnkronos International wishes to make an appeal to the Italian government, the international community, associations and humanitarian and professional organizations to join to our 'network' to identify and bring together professionals in the field of communication at all levels and in all sectors, while respecting national, ethnic and religious differences.

In this way we aim to foster open societies, by promoting common ground instead of conflicts.
