The central-eastern Mediterranean and southeast Europe were at the centre of talks between Italys' foreign minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi and his Greek counterpart George Katrougkalos in Brussels on Monday, the foreign ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, the two ministers discussed "areas of common interest and the close cooperation between their countries in the central-eastern Mediterranean and in southeast Europe," the statement said without elaborating.
Moavoer and Katrougkalos met on the sidelines of the EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting, according to the statement.
The Foreign Affairs Council agenda includes the 28-member bloc's global strategy, common foreign and security policy and the political standoff in Sudan between its ruling transitional military junta and a coalition of pro-democracy protesters and opposition parties.
