Over 14,000 unaccompanied minors have reached Italy by boat this year - 13 percent of total arrivals as the share of child migrants landing here alone continues to climb, according to figures issued by Italy's ISMU foundation on Monday.
A staggering 93 percent of children arriving in Italy in 2017 were unaccompanied, a sharp rise from 75 percent i 2015 and 49 percent in 2014, ISMU said.
