The suspects, from Marrakesh and three other Moroccan cities planned to travel to Libya and train in IS jihadist camps there, according to the interior ministry.
The cell operated between Marrakesh, the city of Sidi Bennour and Smara in the Moroccan-controlled part of Western Sahara, media reports said.
Authorities in Morocco have smashed over 30 IS cells and foiled "numerous" plots 'against national and foreign interests', the interior ministry stated.
