The 27-member European Union is not currently planning any embargo of Russian gas, the bloc's economic commissioner Paolo Gentiloni said on Tuesday.
"For the moment no further measures are on the discussion table," Gentiloni told a conference in Brussels organised by Politico.eu
The 27-member European Union, which has traditionally depended on Russia for 40% of its gas needs, is scrambling to source alternative gas supplies. EU leaders have agreed an embargo on Russian crude oil imports that will take full effect by end-2022.
