The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is the "natural forum" in which “to debate and find common solutions together” to the challenges posed in the cyber sector, Italy's foreign undersecretary Guglielmo Picchi told a conference in Rome on Friday.
Cyber threats are “increasingly complex” as they not only concern states but have a “direct impact on the every-day lives of our citizens” Picci told the 'How to lower the risks of conflict and misunderstandings between states in cyberspace' meeting organised by Italy, which holds the rotating OCSE chairmanship this year.
In his address, Picci also highlighted Italy’s efforts in this sector.
“We have tried to unify all our activities, bringing them all to cabinet level,” he said, recalling the creation of a Cabinet-level Cybersecurity Unit which brings together “all levels of administration” in charge of guaranteeing national security.
