A total 115 Italians returned home from Saudi Arabia on Thursday aboard a special flight from Riyadh, the foreign ministry tweeted.
"Thank you Saudi Airlines for your excellent cooperation and welcome back everyone," read the tweet.
Nearly 94,000 Italians have now been repatriated since the Covid-19 pandemic began earlier this year, the foreign ministry said in a statement on Monday.
The repatriations took place in over 1,000 operations from 120 countries, according to the statement.
The foreign ministry has worked for months to bring back to Italy citizens who were stranded abroad when countries halted international flights and closed their borders amid coronavirus fears.
