A total 120 Italian and foreign journalists, plus around 100 cameramen and photographers are accredited to cover a press conference given by premier Giuseppe Conte and Vladimir Putin during the Russian president's high-security visit to Rome on Thursday.
The joint press conference is scheduled to take place at around 17.30 local time at Palazzo Chigi, the prime minister's office, after talks between Conte and Putin.
Conte and Putin will later take part in the Italian-Russian Dialogue Forum of civil society organisations, which is also being attended by Italian and Russian business and cultural representatives, Conte's office said in a statement.
After the forum, the Italian and Russian delegations will attend a dinner at the Renaissance Villa Madama, the statement added.
Putin was due earlier on Thursday to meet Pope Francis and to hold talks with Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Russia's state-run Tass news agency reported, citing a Kremlin statement.
The visit comes as the Russian leader seeks to bolster economic ties with NATO and European Union member Italy.
