The government has arranged for more than 110,000 Italians stranded abroad in recent months during the COVID-19 pandemic to return home, foreign minister Luigi Di Maio said on Thursday, according to a foreign ministry statement.
The repatriations were made possible by the efforts of Italy's foreign ministry and its diplomatic-consular network around the world, Di Maio told an emergency G20 video summit, the statement said.
