A total 41 million people in the world are perilously close to famine, the Rome-based United Nations World Food Programme tweeted on Friday. calling for adequate funds to save lives.
"Forty-one million people are one step away from famine," read the tweet.
"With sufficient funding and access, WFP has the expertise to provide all those who risk famine in 2021 with life-saving food and nutritional assistance."
